Achievements in Integrated Culture Voucher Issuance and Usage Rates
Gijang-gun (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on the 7th that it received a commendation from the Busan Mayor as an outstanding institution for its achievements in the Integrated Culture Voucher Project last year.
The Integrated Culture Voucher (Munhwa Nuri Card) project aims to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for the culturally disadvantaged and bridge cultural gaps. Supported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the project is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, and metropolitan and local governments.
The main focus of the project is to support various cultural and artistic activities, domestic tourism, and sports activities for basic livelihood security recipients and low-income groups, in order to improve their quality of life and access to culture and the arts.
To promote the use of the Integrated Culture Voucher, the county has been identifying and assisting eligible recipients through eup and myeon administrative welfare centers, as well as supporting the issuance of vouchers to those who were previously overlooked. The county has also worked to increase usage rates by providing information on where and how to use the vouchers to those who have not yet used them.
As a result, the county achieved a voucher issuance rate of 104.97% compared to its budget and a usage rate of 93.85%. In particular, the activation of the Integrated Culture Voucher has been highly praised for supporting free participation in cultural, travel, and sports activities, thereby expanding cultural enjoyment opportunities and improving cultural welfare for the disadvantaged.
Jung Jongbok, Governor of Gijang-gun, said, "Through proactive implementation of the Integrated Culture Voucher project, we will continue to bridge cultural gaps for the disadvantaged and ensure that more residents can enjoy richer cultural benefits."
