Asan City Establishes '2030 Industrial Area Master Plan' for Systematic Management

Asan City has established the '2030 Asan Industrial Area Master Plan', classifying nine industrial areas totaling 1,684,000 square meters into different types based on industrial infrastructure and local conditions for systematic management.

According to the announcement posted on the city's website on the 7th, this master plan was formulated in accordance with the 'Special Act on the Management and Revitalization of Urban Industrial Areas'.

The base year is 2023, and the planning period extends to 2030. The target areas are pure industrial zones, excluding industrial complexes and agro-industrial complexes.

The industrial areas were comprehensively analyzed in terms of industrial infrastructure and local conditions, and classified into three types: ▲Industrial Maintenance Type ▲Industrial Management Type ▲Other Areas.

For example, the area around 265 Sirok-dong (479,000 square meters) was classified as 'Industrial Maintenance Type' due to active industry but outdated infrastructure and poor road accessibility. The goal is to maintain industrial functions through maintenance and improve deteriorated urban conditions.

Four locations?Baemi-dong (5-4, 134), Baebang-eup Buksu-ri, Inju-myeon Munbang-ri, and others (totaling 757,000 square meters)?were designated as 'Industrial Management Type'.

These areas are concentrated with traditional manufacturing industries, and while the industrial ecosystem is maintained, environmental conditions are poor, so expansion of support facilities and gradual maintenance will be promoted.

Additionally, four locations?Dunpo-ri, Oncheon-dong, and two sites in Baebang-eup Gongsu-ri (totaling 448,000 square meters)?were classified as 'Other Areas'. Due to special reasons such as the presence of a single company or absence of industrial facilities, customized management plans will be applied individually.

Yoon Sujin, head of the Urban Planning Division, stated, "With the establishment of this master plan, a foundation has been laid for systematic management and revitalization of industrial areas," and added, "We will strive to ensure that industrial areas in the city can secure competitiveness through maintenance."

Meanwhile, the master plan can be found on the city's website announcement and city bulletin, among other channels.
