Changwon Special City Explores AI Industry Development and Administrative Integration Strategies

Special Lecture Held to Strengthen AI Utilization Capabilities of Senior Officials

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a special lecture on strengthening AI capabilities for 200 senior officials at the City Hall Citizen Hall.

The lecture, held on the 4th, was themed "Artificial Intelligence and the Manufacturing Revolution." It aimed to explore Changwon City's response strategies, such as the development direction of industrial AI and the integration of AI technology into administrative services, amid the changing industrial environment driven by AI technology.


Main topics included: the impact of AI technology advancement on manufacturing; the importance of artificial intelligence in various fields such as law and medicine; case studies of AI adoption in manufacturing; and the direction of industrial AI development in neighboring countries. The lecture was tailored to the industrial conditions of Changwon, home to a national industrial complex, and received a very positive response from the attending officials.


The invited lecturer, Roh Sungyeol, President of the Korea Intellectual Property Journalists Association, has worked as a science and technology journalist at Munhwa Ilbo for 32 years since 1991. He is currently serializing articles on "AI Economy" at KPI News, covering science, technology, and domestic and international industry and policy, making him an expert with extensive knowledge in the AI field.


One senior official who attended the lecture said, "Utilizing AI technology in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not a choice but a necessity," and added, "This special lecture made me think about the direction in which Changwon City's related policies should move forward."


Hong Sunyoung, Director of the Autonomous Administration Bureau, stated, "This special lecture provided an opportunity for senior officials to gain insights into artificial intelligence and the era of digital transformation," and added, "We plan to continue offering education on various topics to strengthen managers' future response capabilities and organizational management skills."
