Briefing Session Held on the Introduction of Latest CT Equipment
at Base Medical Institution in Medically Underserved Area
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 7th that on the 4th, it held a briefing session on the introduction of the latest CT and MRI equipment at Dongducheon Jungang Seongmo Hospital, a base medical institution in medically underserved areas.

The introduction of the latest medical equipment is part of efforts to provide high-quality medical services to residents in areas with low medical accessibility, supported by partial budgets from Gyeonggi Province and Dongducheon City.
About 50 people attended the briefing session, including Mayor Park Hyung-deok, City Council Chairman Kim Seung-ho, Provincial Assembly members Im Sang-oh and Lee In-gyu, city council members, and related officials, celebrating the introduction of the latest CT equipment and encouraging the medical staff.
Dongducheon Jungang Seongmo Hospital, a base medical institution in medically underserved areas, reported on emergency patient treatment plans using the latest medical equipment. Attendees had the opportunity to directly inspect the installed latest CT and MRI equipment and listen to explanations from medical staff about key functions and future operation plans.
Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon said, “With the introduction of the latest CT equipment at the base medical institution, the first designated in Gyeonggi Province, we expect a noticeable improvement in the region’s emergency medical environment. We will continue to strengthen cooperation between our city and the base medical institution in medically underserved areas to provide stable emergency medical services.”
Additionally, National Assembly member Kim Seong-won, who was unable to attend due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts, conveyed a message by proxy, stating that residents in areas lacking medical infrastructure can now benefit from early disease detection and preventive medical care through precise diagnosis, marking an important turning point in protecting life and health.
Meanwhile, Dongducheon Jungang Seongmo Hospital is the only medical institution operating an emergency room in Dongducheon City. In October of last year, it was designated as the first base medical institution in the emergency medical field for medically underserved areas in Gyeonggi Province under the Public Health and Medical Services Act.
