Ourhome apologized on the 4th for an accident involving an employee during work at its Yongin factory in Gyeonggi Province.
On the 7th, Ourhome issued a statement signed by President Lee Young-pyo, General Manager of Operations, saying, "We sincerely hope for the recovery of the injured employee and offer our deepest apologies to the family." The statement continued, "The company is actively cooperating with investigations by relevant authorities such as the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and is fully committed to supporting the injured employee and their family, accurately identifying the cause of the accident, and preventing recurrence."
Ourhome promised, "Regardless of the reason, we will thoroughly inspect the safety management system across all company operations to ensure that such incidents never happen again, and will expand and strengthen the company-wide safety management system." It added, "In relation to this accident, we will not only conduct a thorough internal investigation but also actively cooperate with investigations by related agencies such as the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and above all, we will mobilize all company resources to support the injured employee and their family."
Ourhome's official apology came three days after the accident occurred on the 4th. At around 11:20 a.m. on the 4th, a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, was caught by the neck in a machine at Ourhome's factory in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. When paramedics arrived at the scene, Mr. A was in cardiac arrest and was transported to the hospital by the emergency medical team. It has been reported that Mr. A has not yet regained consciousness.
