Discovering Unsung Contributors Who Have Brightened the Community
Nominations Accepted Until June 9
Yeongju City, Gyeongbuk is accepting nominations for the '29th Yeongju Citizen Award' until June 9.
Celebrating its 29th anniversary this year, the Yeongju Citizen Award is a system that discovers and honors individuals or organizations who have made significant contributions to the development of the local community. This year, winners will be selected in three categories: △Revitalization of the local economy △Service and filial piety △Culture and sports.
Eligible nominees are citizens who have resided in Yeongju for at least two years as of the nomination date, former residents with Yeongju as their registered domicile, and individuals working at organizations or institutions based in Yeongju. Any individual or organization among these who has made a noteworthy contribution to the community and serves as a role model may be nominated.
To nominate a candidate, submit a nomination form, resume, statement of achievements, and supporting documents either in person to the General Affairs Division at Yeongju City Hall or the administrative welfare center of the candidate's local town, township, or neighborhood, or by mail. The award plan and application forms can be downloaded from the Yeongju City website. For inquiries, contact the General Affairs Division at Yeongju City Hall or the local administrative welfare center.
The city will review the submitted candidates through the Citizen Award Selection Committee, finalize the winners by the end of August, and hold the award ceremony in September.
A city official stated, "We hope for active interest and nominations from citizens so that individuals who have quietly dedicated themselves to the development of Yeongju and the local community from all walks of life can be recognized."
The Yeongju Citizen Award, now in its 29th year, is the city's representative award program. Since its inception in 1996, a total of 87 recipients have been selected, continuously recognizing those who have contributed to the development of the local community.
