Chosun University Hospital (Director Kim Jin-ho) announced on the 7th that despite the medical service gap last year, it will double the number of beds in its integrated nursing care service ward.
The integrated nursing care service is a system in which professional nursing staff (nurses and nursing assistants) and ward support staff provide 24-hour direct care to inpatients without the need for guardians or caregivers, aiming for patient safety and early recovery. This system is part of the national health insurance policy project, which not only reduces the social burden on families and the economic burden of hiring caregivers, but also limits visitors to lower the risk of infection, thereby improving the quality of medical services.
Chosun University Hospital increased the number of beds in its integrated nursing care service from the previous 21 beds last year to 41 beds, expanding from partial to full ward operation. Around 40 professional nursing staff are providing high-quality, patient-centered medical services.
This expansion of beds aligns with government policies actively promoted to protect the lives and daily routines of the public. It not only provides patients with psychological stability but also reduces the economic burden of caregiving costs, thereby increasing inpatient satisfaction.
As the prolonged medical service gap has led to a re-evaluation of the medical capabilities of local hospitals, Chosun University Hospital is earning great trust from patients by securing skilled medical staff and state-of-the-art medical equipment. The number of patients with serious illnesses, such as cancer, continues to rise steadily.
In particular, many cancer patients require nursing and care, and the cost of caregiving can easily exceed 100,000 won per day. The integrated nursing care service not only reduces this financial burden but also provides professional nursing services, making the integrated nursing care service ward increasingly preferred among patients.
Director Kim Jin-ho said, "With the expansion of beds in the integrated nursing care service ward, more patients are receiving high-quality inpatient services that provide integrated support from nursing to care, while also easing their financial burdens to some extent. We will continue to provide the best medical services so that patients using the ward can reduce their psychological and economic burdens and receive inpatient treatment without inconvenience."
