Citizen Participation Programs to Be Held from the 12th to the 23rd
From "Reading Han Kang, Writing from the Heart" to Quizzes, Exhibitions, and Hands-on Experiences
Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Central Library announced on the 7th that it will hold a variety of events to celebrate 'Library Week.' The events will take place from the 12th to the 23rd.
The theme is 'Seeds That Grow Dreams, Planted in the Library.' In commemoration of Library Day and World Book Day, the library will host programs for citizens. Main programs include: ▲Online quiz in celebration of Library Day ▲'Reading Han Kang, Writing from the Heart' ▲Read a Book and Spin for Luck ▲Sharing Back Issues of Magazines ▲Exhibition of Recommended and Popular Books ▲Online Original Picture Exhibition 'Myeolchi Dadeumgi' ▲A Spoonful of Fragrance from Books, and more.
'Reading Han Kang, Writing from the Heart' is a program where participants copy sentences from the author Han Kang, recalling senses and memories. The 'Online Quiz' will randomly select 40 winners from those who answer correctly and provide them with mobile cultural gift certificates.
The Choi Sangjun Library, a branch library, has also prepared separate events. These will run from the 12th to the 18th. Programs include: ▲'Library, Sprouting Spring' ▲Pencil Holder Craft Experience ▲Large Print Book Exhibition ▲Audiobook Introduction 'The Book' ▲Local Author Corner ▲Sharing Back Issues of Magazines ▲Book of the Month Story, and more.
'Library, Sprouting Spring' will provide seed pot kits to the first 50 participants. The 'Pencil Holder Craft' is an experience program for elementary school students, using eco-friendly materials to foster creativity and environmental awareness.
