"April is Science Month, Here Comes Science!"... National Busan Science Museum Presents a Variety of Science Culture Events

Free Admission and Extended Night Hours at the Permanent Exhibition Hall for Science Day on April 19-20
Special Exhibition, Osiria Tourism Complex Cooperative Event, Performances, and Science Festivals

The National Busan Science Museum (Director Song Samjong) is presenting a variety of science culture events and content in celebration of Science Month in April.

First, a special exhibition titled "Science Kitchen," themed around the science in food, will open on April 24 at the Kim Jinje Hall.


This exhibition is designed to explore various ingredients and experience cutting-edge food technology, with a focus on everyday cooking and food. It will run for four months from April 24 to August 31.


On the weekend of April 19 and 20, ahead of Science Day (April 21), the permanent exhibition hall will offer free admission, and the planetarium and observatory will extend their hours until 8:30 p.m. for the "Starlight Science Museum" event.


In particular, on the 20th, the "Osiria Come and Play" cooperative event with the Osiria Tourism Complex will be held. The event will feature a variety of cultural, tourism, leisure, and food and beverage companies representing the Osiria Tourism Complex, including Village de Ananti, Matie Osiria, Lotte World Adventure Busan, Skyline Luge Busan, Surfholic, and Foodist. Visitors can enjoy instant lottery events, experience booths, photo zones, and other diverse attractions.


Special lectures will also be held to increase interest in science and stimulate intellectual curiosity.


In celebration of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology 2025, Professor Kim Beomjun from the Department of Physics at Sungkyunkwan University will give a lecture titled "The World Shown by Quantum Mechanics" at 2 p.m. on the 12th.


The National Busan Science Museum will also participate in major domestic science festivals to promote science culture.


From April 12 to 13, the museum will take part in the "24th Busan Science Festival" at BEXCO in Busan, and from April 16 to 20, it will participate in the "2025 Korea Science Festival" at Expo Citizen Plaza in Daejeon. The museum will showcase dance robot performances, artificial intelligence painter robot experiences, and mobile exhibits on coding. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, a citizen-participation mosaic mural program will also be held.


In addition, various exhibition commentaries and maker experience events are prepared for visitors on science outings.
