Establishing Unwavering Discipline Among Public Officials
Geochang County, Gyeongnam Province, has decided to implement comprehensive measures for stabilizing county administration and promoting community integration by mobilizing all administrative resources to calm the local atmosphere, which may become unsettled following the presidential impeachment ruling.
The community integration task force will be led by the Deputy Governor and organized into three offices and six sub-teams. They will establish and carry out seven key initiatives focused on creating a diligent work environment for public officials, strengthening public service discipline, revitalizing the local economy, and ensuring the stability of county residents.
Geochang County is holding a meeting to promote regional stability and integration measures related to the presidential impeachment.
First, to strictly address any cases of lax discipline among public officials that may arise amid the current political turmoil, the county has reinforced discipline starting with senior officials and established an emergency duty system for all staff by updating the emergency contact network.
Regarding policies related to residents' livelihoods, the county is focusing on ensuring safety in vulnerable sectors such as women, low-income residents, and transportation. They are also alleviating residents' inconveniences through guidance and enforcement related to basic public order, and are meticulously implementing measures to stabilize county administration.
Additionally, to boost the domestic economy and revitalize the local economy, the county plans to promptly execute 60% of its annual budget in the first half of the year. They are also making efforts to ensure the safety and social security of local residents through the Geochang-style integrated care system, job provision for vulnerable groups, and strengthened medical support.
In particular, the county is focusing on prevention by enhancing forest fire monitoring activities in the spring, renewing efforts to stabilize and integrate the community. They are fostering a steadfast work environment for public officials and promoting administrative practices that bring the county government closer to its residents to ensure stable governance.
County Governor Koo Inmo stated, "In this grave situation where the presidency is vacant, we will do our utmost with over 800 public officials to ensure stable county administration. I ask all residents to actively participate for the unity of our community."
