Israel Deports Two MPs Who Criticized War Crimes
UK Foreign Secretary: "Unacceptable" and Strongly Protests
On the 6th (local time), the Israeli government denied entry and immediately deported two British Members of Parliament and two aides during the immigration inspection process. Israeli immigration authorities stated that they attempted to enter without official prior notice or permission.
The deported MPs, Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed, belong to the UK's ruling Labour Party. Although they claimed to be official parliamentary delegation members, their entry was denied during immigration inspection on the grounds that their purpose was to document Israeli military activities and spread anti-Israel sentiment. These MPs have criticized Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, labeling them as war crimes and crimes against humanity.
MP Yang emphasized Palestinian civilian casualties, claiming that "Israel resumed bombings and killed Palestinian residents." MP Mohamed criticized, stating, "Israel's goal is ethnic cleansing and the complete destruction and occupation of the Gaza Strip."
Israeli Interior Minister Moshe Arbel refused their entry and issued deportation orders. In response, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy strongly criticized Israel's actions on X, stating, "Detaining these MPs and denying their entry is unacceptable."
