Kim Dong-yeon Sends Letters to Over 100 People in 49 Countries Right After Yoon's Impeachment... "Hoping for Deeper Cooperation"

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon sent letters to about 100 world leaders, ambassadors to South Korea, and heads of international organizations immediately after the Constitutional Court's approval of President Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment on the 4th.


On the 6th, Gyeonggi Province announced that Governor Kim sent letters to approximately 100 figures from 49 countries worldwide, including former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, acting U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Joseph Yun, governors of sister and friendly exchange regions such as Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders, and heads of international organizations such as Klaus Schwab, Chairman of the WEF, and Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the IEA.

In the letter, Governor Kim stated, "With the presidential impeachment decision based on the constitution and democratic procedures, a path has opened for the Republic of Korea to move toward new leadership," adding, "This approval of impeachment will further solidify the value of democracy in Korea and serve as an opportunity to advance toward a new vision."


He continued, "Despite uncertainty over the past several months, the Republic of Korea has lived up to the trust of the international community," and added, "Gyeonggi Province has continuously strengthened global partnerships."


Furthermore, he conveyed, "Now is the time for the Republic of Korea to move forward together beyond division," and stated, "Gyeonggi Province, the center of Korea's economy and innovation, will play a key role in social integration and sustainable development."
