Daeji and Juhulsan Industry Development Donate 50 Million KRW
Lee Myungbak Foundation and Yeungnam University Faculty Association Join Recovery Efforts
Daeji Co., Ltd. and Juhulsan Industry Development announced on the 6th that they have donated a special fund of 50 million KRW to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support the recovery from wildfire damage for residents in the Gyeongbuk region who were recently affected by large-scale wildfires.
Park Youngseo, CEO of Daeji Co., Ltd. and Juhulsan Industry Development, conveyed a warm message, saying, "I hope this donation provides some comfort to the residents who suffered great losses due to the wildfires, and that it helps them return to their daily lives as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, Daeji Co., Ltd. and Juhulsan Industry Development have continued their donation activities through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to help neighbors in need and overcome low birth rates in the Gyeongbuk region, contributing to the welfare of local residents and regional development.
Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk, stated, "I deeply appreciate the local companies for sharing the hardships of Gyeongbuk residents and actively stepping up to support them," and added, "Through this donation, we will accelerate the recovery from wildfire damage in Gyeongbuk and do our utmost to ensure residents can return to a safe and stable daily life as soon as possible."
Kim Gwanglim, President of the Saemaeul Undong Central Association, and his delegation visited five cities and counties (Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok) affected by the wildfires to comfort the victims and deliver relief supplies. So far, it has been identified that 169 members of the Gyeongbuk Saemaeul Association have suffered damages from the wildfires, including livestock losses and the complete destruction of houses and cold storage facilities.
On the 1st, Kim Gwanglim and his delegation delivered clothing worth 1.6 billion KRW (about 18,600 pieces, including lightweight padded jackets) donated by the apparel company Shinwon Co., Ltd. through the Saemaeul Undong Central Association to wildfire victims and disaster recovery workers.
They also donated 35 washing machines for the displaced residents of Andong City and Uiseong County. Of these, 7 units were first installed at temporary shelters in Andong, and the remaining 28 will be installed later in consultation with Andong City and Uiseong County.
The Yeungnam University Faculty Association also visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government on the 4th and delivered a donation of 5 million KRW to support the recovery from the massive wildfire damage in northern Gyeongbuk.

Lee Donghyeong, President of the Faculty Association, said, "We prepared this donation at the association level to offer even a small support to the residents who lost their livelihoods due to the unexpected massive wildfires," and added, "We hope the recovery is completed quickly so that the residents can regain stability."
The Yeungnam University Faculty Association, established in 1987 under the name of the Faculty Council, has been striving to protect the rights and interests of university members and to promote academic freedom, taking the lead in policy-making for resolving major university issues and development.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Government also announced that the Lee Myungbak Foundation has recently delivered a donation to support the recovery from wildfire damage in the Gyeongbuk region.
A representative from the Lee Myungbak Foundation stated, "In accordance with the will of President Lee Myungbak, we have collected and delivered donations from foundation members for wildfire recovery," and added, "We hope this will provide at least some help to the residents suffering from the massive wildfire damage."
Meanwhile, former President Lee Myungbak participated in the 300th anniversary event of the 'Hwagog (Let's Study on Tuesday) Good Morning Special Lecture' in September 2024, delivering messages of support and congratulations for Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services also donated 7 million KRW collected by the Korean Master Agricultural Technicians Association (President Lee Myunghwa) to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support the displaced residents and recovery from the large-scale wildfires.
Lee Myunghwa (66, Seongju), President of the Korean Master Agricultural Technicians Association, said, "We hope the hearts of our members, who wish to serve and share for the local community, can provide at least some help to the wildfire victims who are facing difficulties."
Jo Youngsook, Director of the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services, stated, "The warm support from the nation's top agricultural masters will greatly help Gyeongbuk farmers return to their daily lives," and added, "We will do our best at the Agricultural Research and Extension Services to help affected farmers return to their work as soon as possible by operating on-site farming situation centers, quickly assessing damage, resolving field difficulties, and supporting farming recovery."
The Korean Master Agricultural Technician is a farmer recognized by the Rural Development Administration as possessing the nation's top agricultural skills, and since its inception in 2009, there are currently 74 masters in five categories (grains, vegetables, fruits, flowers & special crops, and livestock).
The Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services also announced that the Korean Agro-Food Women CEO Association has donated relief supplies and funds to help wildfire victims affected by the largest wildfire in history.

The Korean Agro-Food Women CEO Association delivered relief goods worth 21 million KRW, including 1,000 boxes of instant Tteokguk and one pallet of Doraji Jeonggwa, directly produced and sold by its member companies, to wildfire-affected areas through the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Services.
Shin Sekyung, President of the Korean Agro-Food Women CEO Association, said, "It is very heartbreaking that the Gyeongbuk rural and fishing communities, which form the backbone of the agro-food industry, have suffered so much damage due to the massive wildfires," and added, "We donated relief supplies to provide some help to the victims, and we will continue to gather the intentions of our member companies for fundraising and rapid recovery."
