District Newsletter Now Subdivided by Category, with Simplified Design and Improved Readability
New "This Month's Key News" Section Added for an Overview of Major District Policies and News
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) announced that it has extensively revamped its ‘Foreign Language Website’ to provide enhanced administrative services that meet the demands of the global era.
The key feature of this overhaul is the introduction of various innovative technologies and services utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to enable users worldwide to easily and conveniently access the ‘Seongdong-gu Foreign Language Website.’
The main updates include expanded multilingual support, a redesigned Seongdong-gu newsletter menu, and the addition of a ‘This Month’s Key News’ section, improving functionality and design to break down language barriers and enhance user convenience.
The district has implemented real-time translation technology based on AI, increasing language support from the previous English, Japanese, and Chinese to over 100 languages, providing optimized multilingual translation services. This allows users from around the world, including foreigners, to access Seongdong-gu’s administrative information more easily.
By leveraging AI technology, administrative efficiency has also been significantly improved. The district saved over 20 million KRW annually, previously spent on separate translation work, and established a real-time administrative information update system, enhancing the speed of delivering district news.
User convenience was improved by applying a user-centered interface. The district newsletter ‘Seongdong News,’ previously provided in PDF format, has been subdivided into 10 major categories, allowing users to access desired information with a single click, and the design was simplified to improve readability.
The newly organized ‘This Month’s Key News,’ which provides an overview of Seongdong-gu’s major policies and news, offers useful everyday information in a more intuitive way.
