The National Police Agency stated in a press release that “Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will adjust to heightened alert, and other provincial police agencies will lift emergency duty.”

During the Eulho Emergency, which mobilizes 50% of police forces, leave is suspended, and commanders and staff officers must remain at their designated posts. Heightened alert maintains an emergency communication system and standby readiness for dispatch, with commanders and staff positioned within the command line.

Earlier, the police lifted the highest level of emergency duty, Gapho Emergency, at 6 PM on the 4th. The police deployed about 7,000 personnel from 110 riot police units around the Constitutional Court, Gwanghwamun, and Jongno areas as of 6 AM on the day of the impeachment ruling of former President Yoon Seok-yeol. Approximately 2,000 personnel from 30 units were stationed in Hannam-dong, and about 1,300 personnel from 20 units were deployed in Yeouido.
