The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Bank of Korea (headed by Park Wankun) announced on the 5th that it recently held the inauguration ceremony for the '2025 BOK Economic Masters,' with university students from Chonnam National University, Chosun University, Suncheon National University, Mokpo National University, and other universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions participating.

The Economic Masters is a participatory economic education program designed to provide local university students with diverse experiences and career development opportunities. It has been held annually since 2019. This year, a total of 40 participants were selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of completed semesters, credits in economics and business courses, and motivation for applying.

Following the inauguration ceremony held under the slogan 'Today's Masters, Tomorrow's Economic Experts,' participants toured the currency exhibition hall and the currency issuance counter, and attended lectures on the functions and roles of the Bank of Korea. Participants expressed great interest, stating that the BOK Economic Masters activities would be a valuable opportunity to gain new experiences and deepen their economic knowledge.

Until the completion ceremony in December this year, participants are scheduled to engage in a variety of activities over nine months, including attending seminars and financial economics lectures, participating in cultural experiences and industrial site tours, and joining internal debate competitions. The financial economics lectures will be held six times throughout the year, starting with the first session on the 10th, titled 'Trump Economics: How Should We Respond?'

Those who complete more than 70% of the entire program will receive a certificate of completion and commemorative gifts from the head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Bank of Korea.

An official from the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Bank of Korea stated, "We expect the 'BOK Economic Masters' program to be of great help to local university students in their employment and career development," and added, "We will continue to develop and operate various economic education programs that can contribute to the local community."
