The event took place amid spring rain, with over 300 local residents wearing raincoats, creating an even warmer atmosphere.
The event proceeded with an opening ceremony, introduction of guests, congratulatory speeches, followed by a group photo session and warm-up exercises led by a recreation instructor, then a walk along the cherry blossom path around Seommal Park.
Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, "Cherry blossoms on a rainy day have a unique charm," and expressed his sincere gratitude to the many citizens who participated despite the inclement weather.
He added, "We will continue to do our best to create an environment for the healthy lives of residents."
Meanwhile, from 11 a.m. on the same day, the '1st Dochon Spring Cherry Blossom Festival' was held, featuring a rich cultural program. The Seongnam City Symphony Orchestra, choir, and Seongnam youth art teams performed musical concerts, and food zones and various experience booths were also set up on site.
At 8 p.m. that evening, a drone starlight lighting event was held, offering visitors a special spring night memory with a spectacular display of lights decorating the night sky.
