31 Hectares Around Guksu Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line Designated for Urban Development
Yangpyeong-gun to Create Eco-friendly Residential Area and Urban Infrastructure
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that it has given final approval for the 'Designation of Guksu Station Area Urban Development Project Zone and Establishment of Development Plan,' a project requested by Yangpyeong-gun with a budget of 130 billion KRW.
The Guksu Station Area Urban Development Project has been prepared by Yangpyeong-gun since 2021. The target site is a 310,000㎡ area around Guksu Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line in Guksu-ri, Yangseo-myeon. It is located on the main development axis of Yangpyeong-gun’s growth in the 2030 Yangpyeong-gun Basic Plan.
Yangpyeong-gun expects the development of the western key station area near Seoul to become a foothold for the development of Yangpyeong-gun.
A plaza, transfer parking lot, cultural facilities, and public office buildings will be connected in front of Guksu Station to create a central development axis. On both sides, 150,000㎡ of residential land and 160,000㎡ of urban infrastructure land including schools and parks will be allocated to provide an eco-friendly residential environment accommodating 2,500 households and 5,700 residents.
Yangpyeong-gun expects the development of the western key station area near Seoul to become a foothold for the development of Yangpyeong-gun.
Son Imseong, Director of the Urban Housing Office of the Province, said, "We hope that the Guksu Station Area Urban Development Project will transform Yangpyeong-gun into a sustainable city that improves the quality of life for its citizens, and Gyeonggi Province will actively strive to establish stable living conditions in the eastern region of Gyeonggi Province."
