[Yoon Seok-yeol Impeachment] Acting President of Korea Rejects Resignation of Senior Presidential Office Aides (Comprehensive) Yonhap News

Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, acting on behalf of the President, rejected the resignation letters submitted by senior aides, including Presidential Chief of Staff Jeong Jin-seok, following the dismissal of former President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 4th.

The Prime Minister's Office announced that Acting Prime Minister Han rejected the resignation letters submitted by 15 senior aides at the level of senior secretary or higher, including three directors, one special advisor, eight senior secretaries, and three deputy chiefs of the Presidential Office.

The Prime Minister's Office stated, "This is to ensure that there is no gap in state affairs amid the serious current economic and security situations and to allow urgent ongoing tasks to be carried out without disruption."

On the afternoon of the same day, 15 senior aides of the Presidential Office collectively tendered their resignations to Acting Prime Minister Han following the decision to dismiss former President Yoon.

In 2017, after the Constitutional Court upheld the impeachment of President Park Geun-hye, nine senior aides of the Blue House, including Chief of Staff Han Kwang-ok, submitted their resignations together to Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn, but these were collectively rejected.
