Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, stated, "Although we are facing the sorrowful situation of another president being impeached in constitutional history, everyone must accept it cleanly and rebuild a new future."

At an emergency executive meeting held on the afternoon of the 4th, after the Constitutional Court dismissed President Yoon Seok-yeol, Mayor Park said, "Our country is a well-organized system society," and added, "We have the capability and potential to wisely overcome this new turning point."

Mayor Park emphasized that Busan must mobilize its accumulated administrative capabilities to stabilize people's livelihoods and maximize management capabilities to ensure that strategically pursued projects proceed without disruption. He said, "Now that an unavoidable early presidential election will be held, it is important to discover regional strategic projects and realize them as election pledges," and added, "I expect each ministry to demonstrate political capabilities."

He also urged executives to support businesses and citizens so they can engage in economic activities with peace of mind, and especially to ensure that support for vulnerable groups is not neglected.

On the same day, Busan City decided at the emergency executive meeting to maintain an emergency response system in preparation for the possibility of large-scale protests and to form a regional livelihood stabilization task force to ensure social stability in the region.

Regarding the early presidential election, the city plans to cooperate with the Election Commission to activate the election administrative system, conduct education on political neutrality for public officials, and focus on compliance with the Public Official Election Act. Furthermore, to prevent any unfortunate incidents such as lax public service discipline or violations of political neutrality obligations during social turmoil, an emergency duty system will be maintained.
