[Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol] Emergency Executive Meeting Held by Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport: "Safety Management Above All"

Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said on the 4th, "Above all, safety management must be prioritized as the top task."


On the same day, following the presidential impeachment decision, Minister Park held an emergency meeting in the afternoon attended by the 1st and 2nd Vice Ministers of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Chairman of the Metropolitan Area Transport Committee, heads of various departments and bureaus, directors of regional land management offices, and directors of regional aviation offices. Seoul, Sejong Government Complex, and regional offices were connected via video.


He stated, "Our country is currently facing internal and external crises due to the economic downturn and changes in U.S. tariff policies," adding, "We must carry out our duties with a greater sense of responsibility than ever before, focusing on the basics to ensure that the lives of the people and the economy remain stable."

Emphasizing safety management in particular, he urged thorough efforts in the safety of major transportation modes such as aviation and railroads, the safety of facilities like bridges and tunnels, and safety management at construction sites. He ordered that the aviation safety innovation plan, scheduled to be announced this month, be implemented with substance and dedication.


Minister Park said, "To restore economic vitality and stabilize people's livelihoods, we must carry out key livelihood tasks such as early fiscal spending, measures to supplement the construction market, and resolving unsold housing in local areas without delay," adding, "Along with expanding housing supply for stable public housing and stable market management, practical housing support measures for disaster victims in wildfire-affected areas must also be promoted with urgency."


He continued, "To support overseas construction orders, we must strengthen intergovernmental cooperation networks and ensure smooth preparations for major international events, making efforts to maintain external credibility."
