The National Police Agency stated in a press release that "the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency will be adjusted to Eulho Emergency, while other city and provincial police agencies will strengthen their alert levels."
Eulho Emergency is the second-highest level, involving the mobilization of 50% of police forces. During this time, the use of annual leave is suspended, and commanders and staff officers must remain at their designated posts. Strengthening alert means maintaining an emergency communication system and standby readiness for dispatch, with commanders and staff positioned within the command line.
Earlier, the police had issued the Gapho Emergency in preparation for the impeachment ruling of President Yoon Seok-yeol. As of 6 AM, about 7,000 personnel from approximately 110 riot police units were deployed around the Constitutional Court, Gwanghwamun, and Jongno areas. Around 2,000 personnel from about 30 units and 1,300 personnel from about 20 units were deployed in Hannam-dong and Yeouido, respectively.
