Establishing a Regional Cooperation System
to Attract KTX-Eum Stops at Gijang Station
Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced on the 4th that it has signed a 'Business Agreement for the Promotion of Gijang Station Usage' with the Gijang-gun Small Business Association, and will establish a regional cooperation system to attract KTX-Eum (Cheongnyangni-bound/Gangneung-bound) stops at Gijang Station.

This agreement with the Small Business Association was promoted as one of the county's core strategies to increase the number of users at Gijang Station, which is a key criterion for deciding KTX-Eum stops. It follows the agreement signed on the 31st of last month with the Gijang-gun branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association.
The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Jeong Jongbok, Chairman Jeong Sunwon of the Small Business Association, and other related officials. Starting with this agreement, Gijang-gun and the Small Business Association will work together to provide various benefits to holders of ITX-Maum and Mugunghwa-ho Gijang Station tickets, aiming for a tangible increase in the number of Gijang Station users.
Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "With today's agreement, we have established a framework for close cooperation with the local Small Business Association to attract KTX-Eum stops at Gijang Station," and added, "We will focus all administrative efforts to not only promote Gijang Station usage but also revitalize the local commercial district."
Gijang-gun is expanding incentives to promote Gijang Station usage, such as offering '20% year-round discount on Skyline Luge & Zipline' and '1,000 KRW admission to the National Busan Science Museum' to those who present an ITX-Maum or Mugunghwa-ho ticket at Gijang Station, until the end of this year.
