Seoul Bar Association: "Constitutional Court is a Core Institution for Upholding the Constitution... Decisions Must Be Accepted" [Yoon Seok-yeol Impeachment]

"Unanimous Impeachment Decision Must Be Accepted and Respected"

On the 4th, the Seoul Bar Association (President Jo Sun-yeol) stated that it "respects and accepts" the Constitutional Court's unanimous decision to impeach former President Yoon Seok-yeol.

The Seoul Bar Association said, "The Constitutional Court is the highest judicial body that determines violations of the Constitution and laws, and is a key institution for protecting the people's fundamental rights and upholding the Constitution," adding, "All citizens must respect and accept the Constitutional Court's impeachment decision based on the Constitution and laws."

They also stated, "We respect the Constitutional Court's decision and hope that the national turmoil will be resolved quickly, allowing the rule of law and democracy in the Republic of Korea to advance to the next level." Furthermore, they emphasized that no violent acts or extreme situations related to the impeachment decision should occur, and added, "We will continue to take the lead in protecting democracy and the rule of law."
