On the afternoon of the 4th, when the decision to dismiss former President Yoon Seok-yeol was made, three senior presidential secretaries, including Chief Presidential Secretary Jeong Jin-seok, Policy Chief Seong Tae-yoon, and National Security Chief Shin Won-sik, along with other senior aides of the Presidential Office, collectively tendered their resignations.
The Presidential Office announced through a press release that day, "Three chiefs, one special advisor, eight senior secretaries, and three deputy chiefs collectively submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, the Acting President."
The senior aides of the Presidential Office had collectively resigned immediately after the emergency martial law was lifted on December 4 of last year, and in January, they also collectively resigned in protest against the appointments of Jeong Gye-seon and Jo Han-chang as Constitutional Court justices by then Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Choi Sang-mok.
