Han: "Let's Make a Better Korea Together"

Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party and a potential presidential candidate, said on the 4th, "I will always be with the people," urging supporters both for and against the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol not to blame each other but to move forward together.

In a post on Facebook that afternoon, former leader Han stated, "I will always be with the people. And I will share the pain, disappointment, and anxiety that my beloved supporters and party comrades are feeling today."

He added, "Although it is painful, the path we must take is liberal democracy and responsibility toward the community," and urged, "This is not the end. Let us share the pain together and overcome it together. Let us not blame each other but move forward together."

He also emphasized, "Let us protect the Republic of Korea together and make a better Korea. We can do it."

Previously, Han, who served as the first Minister of Justice under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, led some People Power Party lawmakers to the National Assembly to pass a motion demanding the lifting of martial law after former President Yoon declared the emergency martial law on December 3rd. He also supported the passage of the impeachment motion against former President Yoon on December 14th of last year.

Two days after the passage of the impeachment motion on December 16th last year, he resigned from his party leadership position, but resumed political activities after publishing a book in late February this year.
