[Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol] Cho Kuk: "The first button to solve the serious domestic and international economic situation is fastened"

Hwang Hyunseon, Secretary General of the Joguk Innovation Party, Reveals Letter from Former Leader Cho from Prison
"Yoon and His Cohorts Must Be Judged... Kim Kunhee, Co-Operator of Power, Is No Exception"

Former leader of the Joguk Innovation Party, Cho Guk, who is currently incarcerated, evaluated the Constitutional Court's decision on the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol on the 4th by stating, "Now, at last, the first button to solve the serious domestic and international economic situation has been fastened."

Hwang Hyun-seon, Secretary General of the Joguk Innovation Party, revealed this content from Cho’s letter from prison through his Facebook on the same day, saying, "In early March, former leader Cho sent a letter requesting to make public in line with Yoon Seok-yeol’s dismissal."

In the letter from prison, former leader Cho stated, "After the December 3 martial law, we no longer have to listen to the numerous lies and nonsense Yoon Seok-yeol spat out at the Yongsan Presidential Office or the Constitutional Court’s judgment chamber," adding, "Yoon Seok-yeol is no longer the president. He is merely a serious criminal who should be severely punished as a ringleader of rebellion."

He asserted, "(Former President Yoon) should also be investigated and punished for the Myeongtaegyun Gate and covering up the investigation of Marine Corps personnel," and added, "Yoon Seok-yeol abused his power as Prosecutor General and president to suppress opponents and conceal crimes of himself and his family. Everything must be revealed."

He continued, "Just as Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo, the main culprits of the December 12 and May 17 military coups, were punished for various crimes and corruption after their retirement, Yoon Seok-yeol and his cohorts must also face the judgment of the law," emphasizing, "Kim Gun-hee, who was a co-operator of power, is no exception."

He also pointed out, "Although Yoon Seok-yeol was dismissed, the far-right fascist forces that invaded the Seoul Western District Court, slandered and threatened Constitutional Court justices, and incited the destruction of the Constitutional Court still remain," and criticized, "The conservative vested interests who made Yoon Seok-yeol, who conducted ‘Indian rainmaking-style investigations’ to block prosecutorial reform and strengthen his own power, a ‘hero’ to gain power are still intact."

He further stated, "These self-proclaimed conservative forces have degraded K-democracy into a flawed democracy," and criticized, "They have distorted the rule of law into rule by decree, disparaged General Hong Beom-do, and favored the pro-Japanese ‘New Right.’ These forces that have regressed the Republic of Korea are not reflecting on themselves but are instead slandering the opposition as anti-state forces and spies while attempting to extend their regime."

Regarding the early presidential election, he advised, "Opposition parties must promptly gather each party’s positions through their procedures and unite their capabilities to enter the election as a 100% unified force," adding, "There is not much time. A ‘new majority coalition’ must be swiftly established to achieve regime change with overwhelming momentum and open the path for a new Republic of Korea." He also said, "We must restore ‘K-democracy,’ revive economic vitality, and strengthen people’s livelihoods and welfare," concluding, "Our actions in the next 60 days and our choices after 60 days will determine the next 60 years."
