Former President Yoon Suk-yeol was impeached, while former President Moon Jae-in stated, "I hope this becomes an opportunity to strengthen the democracy peacefully regained and to advance toward a more mature democracy."

On the 4th, former President Moon conveyed this message through a post on his Facebook, saying, "We have upheld the democratic republic in the name of the constitution and justice."

Former President Moon said, "We have once again shown the world the remarkable resilience of democracy," adding, "All thanks to the people." He continued, "I offer comfort and gratitude to the citizens who lost sleep and worried deeply for the country."

He also expressed hope that "the wounds and aftereffects left by the martial law situation will be healed quickly, leading to unity and stability."
