Through a range of programs such as humanities lectures, cultural performances, and special events, the library aims to activate itself as a multi-cultural space and strengthen communication with local residents.
This event, which will run from the 10th of this month to the 9th of next month, will include: ▲A special humanities lecture on psychological healing with a Wednesday film screening (lecturer Lee Seunga) ▲An acoustic indie band performance 'Melody of Spring Days' on the library steps (Band Ode) ▲A receipt raffle event 'Unexpected Encounter with Luck' ▲Various one-day class programs (English fairy tales, children's story cooking, glass art, knitting), among others.
Additionally, there will be a spring flower seed sharing event, a local artist exhibition (artist Kim Sangtae), a spring poem exhibition in celebration of Library Week, and a 'To Those Who Forgot to Return Books' event.
Through this event, the library plans to become closer to the local community and provide residents with opportunities to experience diverse cultural activities.
Imsil County Library and Imsil Public Akimeopsijuneunnamu Small Library were also selected as excellent libraries in last year's Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province public and small library operation evaluation. At the time, the award recognized the library's services and efforts to activate small libraries.
In particular, the selection for the public building green remodeling project, operation of talent donation programs for local residents and women with career interruptions, and free rental of library spaces for village residents to support lifelong learning were highly praised for promoting the activation of small libraries.
County Governor Shim Min said, "Through this Library Week event, I hope that residents will feel more familiar with the library and enjoy various reading and cultural programs," adding, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that Imsil County Library becomes a cultural hub together with local residents."
He added, "We will further develop Imsil County Library and the small library as multi-cultural spaces and regional hubs for reading and culture, creating spaces that blend books and culture for the benefit of local residents."
