A supporter of President Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested on the spot for smashing a police bus.
According to the police on the 4th, a man wearing a helmet and gas mask broke the glass window of a police bus parked in front of Exit 5 of Anguk Station near the Constitutional Court with a blunt object.
Participants opposing the impeachment shook the barricades installed around the Constitutional Court and showed agitated behavior, including shouting insults at the police officers.
The police densely set up vehicle barriers around the Constitutional Court to control entry in preparation for any situation and issued a high alert nationwide. A total of 338 riot police units and about 20,000 officers were deployed nationwide.
The area within 150 meters around the Constitutional Court was surrounded by vehicle barriers to create a vacuum state preventing protesters from entering, and the police special forces were put on standby. Rooftop access doors of 22 locations including gas stations, construction sites, and buildings around the Constitutional Court were also closed.
