This event aims to support the stable social settlement of youth preparing for independence and to foster talent in the semiconductor industry. A modest scholarship will be awarded to five university students studying semiconductor and IT-related majors. The program also includes a 'job mentoring' process where Tokyo Electron Korea employees share tips on writing self-introduction letters and interview skills.
Youth preparing for independence are young people who have been under legal protection in child care facilities or group homes and start living independently after turning 18. Support is needed at the time their protection ends to ensure stable social settlement.
Tokyo Electron Korea plans to strengthen the academic capabilities of youth preparing for independence through scholarship awards and help them realize their dreams of independence. Through this, the company also aims to fulfill its corporate social responsibility by nurturing professional talent for the future semiconductor industry.
A representative from Tokyo Electron Korea said, "Since signing a business agreement with Save the Children last October, the results have begun to emerge with this scholarship award. We will continue to support creating a better world through semiconductors as well as the bright future and stable independence of youth preparing for independence."
Meanwhile, Tokyo Electron Korea is engaged in various internal and external activities to fulfill its corporate social responsibility under the social contribution brand 'TEL FOR GOOD.' Similar to the 'job experience activities' for vulnerable children conducted with Save the Children in February this year, this scholarship certificate award ceremony is part of the same initiative. In addition, the company is expanding industry-academia cooperation by running scholarship programs with several domestic universities, striving to discover outstanding talent and connect them to recruitment.
