SM Entertainment (hereinafter SM) announced on the 4th that the exclusive contracts with Red Velvet members Wendy (real name Son Seung-wan) and Yeri (real name Kim Ye-rim) have ended.
On the same day, SM stated, "Wendy and Yeri will continue to participate in Red Velvet group activities."
They added, "The time spent with Wendy and Yeri, who debuted as Red Velvet members and have also been active as solo artists in various fields, was a great happiness," and "We will support their new beginnings."
They also asked, "Please send warm interest to the paths of the two members who are starting new challenges in their respective positions."
Red Velvet, a five-member female group that debuted in 2014, has released and promoted songs such as "Ice Cream Cake," "Russian Roulette," "Peek-A-Boo," and "Rookie."
