Korea Citibank Donates 100 Million Won for Youth Financial Education

Sponsorship Agreement for Think Money
Supporting Financial Education for Youth through Citibank Korea and Korea YWCA Federation Collaboration

On the 4th, Citibank Korea announced that it held a sponsorship agreement ceremony for the 'Learning and Experiencing Youth Financial Classroom Think Money' in collaboration with the Korea YWCA Federation at Page Myeongdong in Jung-gu, Seoul the previous day, and donated 100 million KRW in sponsorship funds.

Think Money is a representative social contribution program operated by Citibank Korea in cooperation with the Korea YWCA Federation since 2006. It helps young people form proper financial values and grow into healthy economic citizens who engage in independent and wise economic activities. This year, marking the 20th anniversary of the program, a commemorative forum will be held to review past achievements and discuss the direction and effectiveness of financial education together.

Since last year, Citibank has newly launched a financial education program to help young people who have experienced social disconnection return stably to daily life and society. This year, these activities were recognized, and Citibank was selected as the only bank in the banking sector for the ‘One Company One School Financial Education Best Practice’ and received the Financial Supervisory Service Governor’s Award for two consecutive years.

Yoo Myung-soon, President of Citibank Korea, said at the agreement ceremony, “Financial education is the foundation of life that all young people should basically have, and helping marginalized youth not to fall behind in the rapidly changing financial environment is the responsibility of our entire society.” She added, “Citibank Korea will continue to support so that every young person can understand finance and have the opportunity to make their own choices.”
