'2025 Tour Biz Bridge: Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Tourism Companies Open Innovation' brings together over 150 companies
Collaboration between large enterprises and startups to revitalize the regional tourism industry
The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 4th that it held the ‘2025 Tour Biz Bridge: Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Tourism Companies Open Innovation’ at KT&G Sangsangmadang Busan on the 3rd.
This event was organized to address regional issues such as increasing the local resident population and revitalizing stagnant commercial districts through cooperation between large and medium-sized enterprises and tourism startups, as well as to expand the tourism industry ecosystem.
About 30 companies participated, ranging from global companies such as LINE Pay Taiwan, KKday, and MUJI to representative local companies in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region such as Samjin Fish Cake, Momos Coffee, and Fe01 Regeneration Complex Cultural Space. In addition, more than 150 companies of various types, including tourism startups discovered and nurtured by the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Tourism Company Support Centers, domestic and international OTAs, luxury hotels, famous tourist attractions, and investors, attended to seek collaboration opportunities.
The event proceeded with ▲collaboration proposal presentations by large and medium-sized enterprises ▲project presentations by tourism startups ▲B2B and B2G business meetings. In particular, during the B2B meetings, LINE Pay Taiwan proposed the first-ever registration of tourism companies and tourist attractions in Busan and promotions targeting Taiwanese tourists. MUJI presented a cooperation plan for operating local tourism souvenirs and F&B pop-up stores. On-site, a total of 15 business consultations between large and medium-sized enterprises and tourism startups were conducted through customized matching based on pre-shared company information.
Additionally, tourism startups presented collaboration proposals on eight topics, including ▲regional specialized content cooperation by food entertainment company ‘Food Travel’ ▲marine tourism collaboration project by ‘Frip,’ the largest domestic hobby and leisure platform ▲regional tourism revitalization project linked with USIM by ‘Fe01 Regeneration Complex Cultural Space.’
Lee Dong-wook, head of the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam branch of the organization, stated, “Tourism startups discovered and nurtured by the regional tourism company support centers possess attractive local-based content, and through cooperation with large and medium-sized enterprises, they can create limitless business opportunities,” adding, “The organization plans to actively support these collaborative projects to achieve successful outcomes through this event.”
