Ulsan City and Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital Join Forces to Strengthen 24-Hour Pediatric Critical Emergency Care System

Business Agreement Signed to Strengthen the Pediatric Severe Emergency Care System in Ulsan Region

Ulsan City has joined hands with Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital to strengthen the 24-hour treatment system for pediatric severe emergency patients in the region.

On the morning of the 4th at 10 a.m., the city will sign a business agreement with Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital in the mayor's office on the 7th floor of the main city hall building to enhance the treatment system for pediatric severe emergency patients in the Ulsan area.

The signing ceremony will be attended by Mayor Kim Dookyum and Lee Sangdon, Director of Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital.

According to the agreement, Ulsan City will provide financial support to Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital to establish a cooperative system for pediatric severe emergency treatment.

With financial support from Ulsan City, Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital will establish a cooperative system for pediatric severe emergency treatment so that pediatric severe emergency patients in the Ulsan area can receive 24-hour emergency medical services smoothly.

Until now, Ulsan City has been supporting the operation of a pediatric-only emergency room at Ulsan University Hospital since 2023 to establish a 24-hour treatment system for pediatric emergency patients. However, due to difficulties such as a shortage of doctors, it has been struggling to maintain 24-hour service.

Therefore, through this agreement with Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, Ulsan City plans to further strengthen the treatment system by distributing pediatric emergency patients between Ulsan University Hospital and Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, enabling immediate response.

Mayor Kim Dookyum said, "Through this agreement, we expect that treatment for pediatric severe emergency patients will be carried out smoothly," and added, "We will do our best to build a better medical service system in cooperation with local medical institutions."

In addition to establishing a treatment system for pediatric emergency patients, Ulsan City also plans to continue expanding Dalbit Children's Hospital, where pediatric patients with mild symptoms can quickly receive outpatient and other medical services on weekday nights, weekends, and holidays without having to visit the emergency room.
