"Street Culture, Fashion, and Art Come Together"
Introducing 'Superstar Seoul' and 'Taekwondo Balletcore'
Adidas Korea announced on the 4th that it will newly open the 'Adidas Originals Flagship Seongsu' in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
The Adidas Originals Flagship Seongsu reflects the trendy atmosphere and cultural characteristics of Seongsu-dong, which is considered the 'coolest place in the world.' Using red bricks, it highlights the unique regional characteristics of Seongsu-dong. The interior consists of three floors where visitors can experience a wide range of Adidas Originals product lineups.
The first floor, starting from the store entrance, is the 'Launch Zone,' displaying Adidas Originals apparel along with mirrors that naturally connect the exterior and interior. The second floor showcases Adidas Originals' representative footwear lineup. Within the second floor, the 'Statement Zone' and 'City Shop' corners exhibit products exclusive to the Seongsu store and special graphic T-shirts. The third floor houses the 'Made For You' service space where customers can express their individuality by offering customized T-shirt design services.
To commemorate the opening of the Seongsu store, Adidas is introducing two products for the first time: the 'Adidas Superstar Seoul,' a shoe designed reflecting the urban characteristics of Seoul, and the 'Adidas Taekwondo Balletcore,' a footwear collection combining the aesthetic elements of traditional Taekwondo and ballet.
Various events have also been prepared. As a special opening event, customers who purchase over a certain amount will receive a limited edition shopper bag commemorating the Seongsu store opening, and they can experience designing their own shopper bag together with the famous graffiti artist 'Jayflow.'
Additionally, special works by artists Kim Ji-soon and Oh Jae-hoon, who participated in the store opening and 'The Originals' campaign, will be specially exhibited in the store. Kim Ji-soon, who dismantles shoes and creates upcycled objects using various materials, expressed musical sensibility sculpturally by utilizing elements such as headpieces, gloves, and speakers. Oh Jae-hoon, who works mainly with patchwork techniques using various materials, reinterpreted the brand heritage through sculptural objects like moon jars, vases, and lighting inspired by Adidas Originals' representative lines such as Superstar, Samba, and Gazelle.
Preston Page, Head of Retail at Adidas Korea, said, "The Adidas Originals Flagship Seongsu is designed as a complex space where street culture, fashion, and art come together, beyond just a simple store," adding, "It will be a store where customers can feel the value of Adidas Originals through products embodying Seongsu's unique personality and various experiential events."
