Samil PwC Hosts Seminar on 'Enhancing Accounting Expertise for Public Interest Corporations'

Samil PwC announced on the 4th that it will hold a seminar titled "A New Alternative to Strengthen the Accounting Expertise of Public Interest Corporations" on the 17th at Amore Hall on the 2nd floor of its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. This seminar is aimed at public interest corporations facing practical difficulties as transparent accounting and management become increasingly important for such organizations.

In the first session, Professor Kim Bong-hwan from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University will give a lecture on "Policy Shift Proposals to Improve Accounting Quality and Productivity of Nonprofit Organizations." Based on research analyzing the accounting management status of 109 nonprofit organizations and overseas Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) cases, Professor Kim will introduce the BPO model as a new alternative to enhance accounting quality and productivity in nonprofit organizations.

In the second session, Min-gyu Seon, Partner of Samil PwC's Nonprofit Specialist Team, and Director Mi-hyang Jeong will discuss "Samil's Outsourcing Implementation Cases to Strengthen the Accounting Expertise of Public Interest Corporations." In the final session, Director Mi-hyang Jeong will present on "Recent Major Amendments to Tax Laws for Public Interest Corporations and Important Official Interpretations."

Yoon Kyu-seop, leader of Samil PwC's Nonprofit Specialist Team and planner of this seminar, said, "To increase the credibility of public interest corporations and secure expertise, it is necessary to consider establishing internal controls, improving productivity based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and reducing costs through outsourcing." He added, "This year, we have prepared a seminar with more practical and in-depth content related to these topics."

The seminar is free of charge and applications can be submitted through the Samil PwC website until the 15th.

Meanwhile, Samil PwC established the "Nonprofit Corporation Support Center" in 2016, the first among accounting firms. The expanded Nonprofit Specialist Team, launched last year, exclusively provides consulting for nonprofit corporations and holds seminars annually on major issues concerning public interest corporations.
