Gangnam-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) is installing artworks and landscape lighting along the Yangjaecheon Cherry Blossom Path, a representative ecological stream in downtown Seoul, to offer citizens a unique enjoyment.
Starting from the 3rd, the district will operate artworks along the Yangjaecheon Cherry Blossom Path, aiming to cultivate this annually spectacular spring site into an emotional space that citizens can enjoy throughout all four seasons.
The artworks, created under the theme "The Brilliant Light Formed by Dew...", consist of two pieces featuring delicate nets and decorations hanging on tree branches. They sparkle in the sunlight during the day and, at night, blend with the landscape lighting to create a fantastic atmosphere reminiscent of constellations.
For citizens who enjoy nighttime walks, 96 landscape lights have been newly installed along approximately 330 meters from Milmiri Bridge to Yeongdong 3 Bridge (the northern end of Yangjaecheon). Through beautiful lighting that brightly illuminates the cherry blossoms, a cherry blossom path perfect for walking at night has been completed.
Additionally, about 50 flower pots have been placed on the railings of Milmiri Bridge, and spring flower beds have been created on the bridge itself, adding a three-dimensional spring landscape harmonizing with the cherry blossoms.
District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong said, "Under the fully bloomed cherry blossoms, the warm lighting and emotional artworks will make Yangjaecheon an even more special place this spring," and added, "We will continue to develop Yangjaecheon into a space where anyone can comfortably stay and feel the beauty of the seasons."
