Gyeonggi Province has caught 7 food service establishments within multi-use facilities violating regulations.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 4th that from March 17 to 21, in collaboration with city and county governments, it conducted hygiene inspections on 1,062 food handling establishments within multi-use facilities and caught 7 violations in preparation for the spring outing season.
This inspection targeted food handling establishments such as general restaurants, rest area restaurants, and food trucks located in multi-use facilities frequently used by residents, including amusement parks, recreational areas, and terminals, during the period of increased outdoor activities in spring.
Among the violating establishments, 4 were found to have installed seating areas outside the registered business premises, and 3 were found with employees not wearing hygiene caps or masks.
Gyeonggi Province plans to impose administrative sanctions on the caught establishments through city and county governments and will revisit within 6 months to check for improvements.
Gyeonggi Province will continue to conduct hygiene inspections on food handling establishments in multi-use facilities seasonally and periodically, such as during outing and vacation seasons, to protect residents' health.
Won Gongsik, Director of the Food Safety Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "We will strengthen inspections of hygiene-vulnerable facilities so that residents can enjoy dining out with peace of mind, and do our best to create a safe food provision environment."
