Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) received the Grand Prize in the 'Regional Economic Development Management' category at the '2025 Korea Best Management Awards' ceremony held on the 3rd at The Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul. This marks the second consecutive year of winning, following last year's award in the 'Cultural Innovation City Management' category, reflecting high external recognition of Hanam City's efforts to establish a self-sufficient city foundation and innovative economic policies.

Hanam City has adopted the slogan "A City to Live, Hanam Leaping Forward" and has been implementing multifaceted strategies to leap forward as a global self-sufficient city.
In particular, the K-Star World development project, aimed at transforming Hanam into an economic city where culture and industry converge, is gaining attention as a key driving force for Hanam's future. This project, which seeks to develop the Misa Island (Misa-seom) area into a world-class complex cultural space, is designed to elevate Hanam as a hub for tourism and content industries based on K-culture.
The achievements in attracting businesses are also remarkable. Hanam City established an investment attraction team and a corporate attraction center, laying the foundation for attracting excellent companies through administrative and financial support such as one-stop civil service processing and incentives. As a result, major companies including the relocation of Seohui Construction headquarters, Roger Nine Co., Ltd., a golf equipment manufacturer and seller of PXG, BC Card R&D Center, and Lotte Medical Foundation Bobath Hospital have been attracted to Hanam, injecting vitality into the local economy.
Alongside this, the expansion of living infrastructure to improve citizens' quality of life is progressing rapidly. Customized infrastructure for each generation, such as Pungsan Multi-Sports Center, Gam-il Public Complex Building, Hanam City Comprehensive Welfare Town, Misa Senior Welfare Center, and Deokpung Sports Culture Center, is now fully operational.
Additionally, earlier this year, Hanam City was selected as the best institution for the fourth consecutive year in the '2024 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation' jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission. This achievement is the result of establishing a citizen-centered civil service system, including the placement of civil service coordinators, a team leader responsibility consultation system for civil service processing, and the operation of a civil service processing task force, realizing trustworthy administration.
The brand value as a cultural and artistic city is also rising. Hanam City has solidified its status as a cultural city by filling urban areas with performances and arts through events such as 'Stage Hanam Busking,' 'Music 人 The Hanam,' and the 'Hanam Iseongsanseong Cultural Festival.' The Misa Hangang Sand Road, where barefoot walking can be practiced as a lifestyle, and the Misa Island Pet Zone for companion animals are evaluated as excellent examples of urban spaces where daily life, leisure, and the environment harmonize.
At the awards ceremony, Mayor Lee Hyun-jae of Hanam City said, "Hanam is continuously moving toward a future city where businesses and citizens grow together, and culture and economy harmonize," adding, "We will continue to strive to promote Hanam's unique competitiveness to the world based on innovation and communication."
