Recruitment for the "400 Fathers Group" in Yangsan City
A pilot project to support new fathers with childcare know-how and experiences
Yangsan City, Gyeongnam is recruiting participants for the "400 Fathers Group," a pilot project in response to the low birth rate in Gyeongnam for 2025. The aim is to provide new fathers, who may be inexperienced in childcare, with opportunities to share and learn childcare know-how and knowledge.
The "400 Fathers Group" is a program that offers childcare information to new fathers and supports them in gaining positive experiences with male parenting through a variety of participation programs.
Participants in the Fathers Group will benefit from experiential programs designed to strengthen the bond and intimacy between fathers and their children, as well as childcare mentoring where new fathers can share concerns and receive coaching from professional instructors. Additional benefits include participating in online missions and other diverse activities.
Any father or expectant father residing in Yangsan City who is raising a child aged between 3 and 7 years old is eligible to apply. The recruitment is limited to 20 participants (400 in total across Gyeongnam Province). Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from April 4 to April 23. To apply, simply access the QR code on the flyer and complete the survey, which will automatically submit your application. Selected participants will be individually notified of the results on April 25.
A city official stated, "We expect this initiative to further promote a culture of 'parenting together' through increased participation of new fathers in childcare."
