Gwangju City announced on the 3rd that it will hold an 'Integrated Briefing Session on Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Projects' for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the home appliance, automobile, and root industries at 2 p.m. on the 8th in the main conference room of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The session will cover 17 projects with a total budget of 5 billion KRW.

The event is hosted by Gwangju City and the Gwangju Employment and Labor Office, and jointly organized by six implementing agencies, including the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gwangju Technopark, Gwangju Design Center, Gwangju Economic Promotion and Win-Win Job Foundation, and Gwangju Employers Federation.

During the integrated briefing, each implementing agency will explain the details of their SME support projects, application methods, and support procedures, followed by a Q&A session. A counseling corner will also be set up to provide customized support consultations.

In particular, the session will also introduce business support linkage projects such as the Ministry of Employment and Labor's Integrated Corporate Support Service and the Future Tomorrow Work Experience, allowing companies to access a wider range of support.

In February, the city was selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor's public offering project, 'Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project,' and is implementing the project with a total budget of 5 billion KRW, including 3.8 billion KRW in national funds.

Among these, the 'Root Industry Plus Job Project' and the 'Automobile Industry Win-Win Agreement Expansion Support Project' have been accepting applications since the 24th of last month. For the home appliance industry, applications for support projects will be accepted by the implementing agency starting from the 7th.

The 'Home Appliance Industry Tomorrow Project' aims to enhance the self-sustainability of the home appliance industry and create jobs. It invests 3.1 billion KRW in six projects: ▲Tomorrow Transition Support Center (job search support for workers, company promotion and recruitment support, employment competency enhancement support) ▲Home Appliance Industry Step-Up Support (corporate consulting) ▲Home Appliance Tomorrow Transition Support (technology transfer, prototypes, patents, in-service employee training) ▲Home Appliance Marketing Support (product branding, market development, in-service employee training) ▲Home Appliance Tomorrow Youth Specialized Support (recruitment subsidies, incentives, workplace and working environment improvement, etc.) ▲Employment Base Establishment.

Lee Gyedu, Director of Labor and Employment Policy, said, "The Regional Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project is designed to strengthen the competitiveness of local key industries and create quality jobs. With the upcoming implementation of U.S. tariff policies, we hope this will be an opportunity for local SMEs in the home appliance, automobile, and root industries to receive diverse support, enabling companies to grow and workers to settle in."
