Dongmyung University (President Lee Sangcheon) has been selected as one of ten universities nationwide for the "Global Talent Employment Leading University" program, overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency.

The official announcement of the selection results was made on the 1st. Dongmyung University will be designated as a government-supported university operating a global career support program for international students and will actively pursue this initiative.

This project was selected thanks to the highly rated concrete implementation plan and clear vision proposed by Professor Han Junki, head of the International Student Support Center at Busan International College (BIC) and a faculty member in the Department of Technology Management and Innovation. Through this, Dongmyung University will operate a variety of tailored career education and industry-academia collaboration programs for international students.

In particular, through this project, a total budget of 200 million KRW will be provided, including 150 million KRW in government funding and a matching fund of 50 million KRW from the university and local government. This budget will be utilized for practical career-linked activities such as developing career education curricula, employment consulting, visa counseling, internship and field training incentives, and company visit programs.

During the proposal stage, Dongmyung University expressed its intention to contribute approximately 50 million KRW from its own budget as a matching fund, making it eligible for additional government incentives depending on future project outcomes.

Dongmyung University has maintained educational innovation based on practical cooperation with local companies, with "industry-academia practicality" as its core educational motto. In particular, it has established Busan International College (BIC), a dedicated college for international students, and systematized a specialized support organization for international students, steadily realizing a practical vision for nurturing global talent.

Going forward, Dongmyung University plans to serve as a facilitator and career navigator, addressing on-site challenges and connecting key stakeholders such as international students, local companies, and the government.

Dongmyung University is the only institution in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions to operate an international college (BIC) exclusively for foreign students, offering a 100% English track. It is establishing itself as a "hidden champion" global university, providing customized support and practical education tailored to international students.

BIC held its opening ceremony in April 2024 and began full-scale operations. It is an international educational community with a global faculty of over 40 members, both Korean and international, and more than 700 international students from over 15 countries.
