To this end, the city is investing 960 million won and has been remodeling parts of the 4th and 5th floors within the center since January. The 550㎡ creation center will be equipped with various spaces including ▲a multipurpose studio ▲a movie and music listening room ▲practice rooms ▲a community hideout ▲recording and editing rooms ▲and lecture rooms. It is scheduled to open in May. A city official explained, "We benchmarked advanced institutions and conducted surveys targeting youth to explore the spatial configuration that teenagers desire."
On the 4th floor of the building, a multipurpose studio capable of hosting various performances will be installed along with a large LED screen. In this space, individuals or groups can practice broadcast dance and musical performances, and education on handling equipment necessary for performances such as sound and lighting will also be provided. The studio will have adjustable structures, allowing it to be used for various purposes such as exhibitions.
The 5th floor will house recording and editing rooms. Teenagers will be able to record songs and instrument performances themselves and edit videos they have personally filmed. A lecture room will also be created to operate programs linked with local artists.
The city plans to consider operating the center’s main programs in connection with the high school credit system.
Park Seung-won, mayor of Gwangmyeong City, said, "The creation center will be a space where teenagers can discover their potential through art," adding, "We will continue to create spaces where youth can grow creatively in the future."
