Yuil Robotics is showing strong performance. The news of SK Group's acquisition of shares appears to be influencing the stock price. On the 1st, SK Battery America invested 36.7 billion KRW in Yuil Robotics, securing a 13.4% stake and becoming the second largest shareholder. SK On, SK Group's secondary battery affiliate, holds a call option to purchase a 23% stake within five years at 28,000 KRW per share, making a future transition to the largest shareholder possible.
At 9:31 AM on the 3rd, Yuil Robotics was trading at 88,700 KRW, up 22.68% from the previous day. The stock has been on a continuous upward trend for four consecutive days since the 31st of last month.
Yuil Robotics is the only domestic industrial robot specialist company with a diverse lineup of robots including orthogonal, multi-joint, and collaborative robots. Through strategic cooperation with SK On, it is focusing on automating battery production processes. Discussions are underway for securing automation equipment orders for a U.S. battery factory.
Park Chansol, a researcher at SK Securities, explained, "Using the Incheon Cheongna site, production capacity will be expanded to the scale of 230 billion KRW," adding, "As SK Group sets AI, semiconductors, and batteries as major investment pillars, interest in investing in Yuil Robotics from an AI investment perspective is increasing."
The plan to introduce robotic processes at SK On's global production facilities is expected to be decided around the third quarter of this year. Expectations are growing that Yuil Robotics will play a part in this.
Yuil Robotics recently began developing humanoid robots. Researcher Park analyzed, "By recently recruiting Dr. Noh Kyung-sik, formerly of Samsung Electronics, as the head of the research institute, they have declared their entry into fields such as AMR, physical AI, and humanoids."
Regarding SK Group's investment in Yuil Robotics, an increasing number of investors are comparing it to Samsung Electronics becoming the largest shareholder by acquiring a 35% stake in Rainbow Robotics.
