Buyeo County Strengthens Promotion of Construction Work Notification System... "Preventing Fines"

Buyeo County Strengthens Promotion of Construction Work Notification System... "Preventing Fines"

Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province announced on the 3rd that it will actively promote the construction work ledger notification system to construction companies to prevent the imposition of fines.

According to the county's analysis of administrative dispositions against construction companies in the first quarter of this year, the most frequent cases involved fines due to 'failure to notify the construction work ledger.' Out of five administrative disposition cases, four, or 80%, were due to this reason.

According to Article 26 of the current Enforcement Decree of the Framework Act on the Construction Industry, construction businesses that have been awarded contracts for construction work with a contract amount of 100 million won or more, or subcontract amounts of 40 million won or more, must notify the client of the details recorded in the construction work ledger through the Construction Industry Information Network within 30 days from the date the contract is signed.

However, many construction companies were fined because they were not properly aware of this system, and some companies were found to be completely unaware of the relevant regulations even when requested to submit explanatory materials.

This is mainly attributed to companies registered before 2019 not having received official training on the new construction industry ethics and practical regulations.

To prevent unnecessary administrative dispositions and fines, the county plans to strengthen promotion of the system. Regular guidance will be provided to specialized construction companies in the area to raise awareness, and active support will be offered so that all companies can accurately understand and comply with the relevant regulations.

A county official stated, "We hope that, through this promotional effort, construction companies in the county will fully understand and fulfill their legal obligations, thereby complying with the relevant laws."
