Boryeong, which has established itself as Korea's leading marine tourism city, saw a rise in its living population thanks to the popularity of major tourist attractions such as the summer 'Boryeong Mud Festival', 'Daecheon Beach', and 'Boryeong Naengpung Bath', as well as various other events.

The resident population refers to those who stay for more than three hours a day and visit at least once a month for purposes such as commuting, studying, or tourism.

Boryeong City is pursuing various projects with the goal of reaching an annual living population of 10 million, including ▲ revitalizing railway tourism in areas with declining populations ▲ operating the Hometown Love Donation Program ▲ and establishing the Boryeong Workation Base Center.

Kim Dongil, Mayor of Boryeong, stated, "We will strengthen stay-type content linked to local resources to attract a living population and create a vibrant community."
