Viewing is available on 2025 Samsung TVs that support the Netflix app, including Neo QLED, OLED, and The Frame models, as well as on 2024 and 2025 model monitors. Netflix uses the AV1 codec, an international standard video compression technology, to provide users with high-quality HDR10+ content.
HDR10+ is a high-definition video standard technology led by Samsung Electronics. It optimizes brightness and contrast on a scene-by-scene basis to enhance the three-dimensional effect of the video and supports accurate color representation. Through this, users can enjoy videos with more vivid colors and excellent contrast, experiencing a higher level of content immersion.
Samsung Electronics has collaborated with companies to enable HDR10+ supported content to be enjoyed across various streaming services. The company plans to continuously expand partnerships with companies such as Netflix.
Meanwhile, to expand the HDR10+ ecosystem, Samsung Electronics established 'HDR10+ Technologies' in 2018 and operates HDR10+ certification, logo programs, and provides free technical support for content production with 170 member companies worldwide.
Son Tae-yong, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, said, "HDR10+ is a technology that finely adjusts the depth and color expression of videos to maximize immersion," adding, "We will continue technological innovation by collaborating with various partners to expand the HDR10+ ecosystem so that customers can enjoy the best viewing experience."
