However, even after Act 4, including the final Episode 16, was released on March 28, Jeon's appearance did not materialize. This led some online users to speculate about why Jeon, despite filming his scene, did not appear in the actual drama. It is known that Jeon participated in the filming with the possibility of a minor role related to the internet lecture company founded by "Geummyeong" (played by IU) in Act 4.
When Jeon did not appear as expected, some speculated that his recent political stance may have influenced the editing process. Jeon Hangil has recently participated in several rallies opposing the impeachment of President Yoon Sukyeol and has been vocal about his views. As controversy grew, the production team of "When Life Gives You Tangerines" confirmed that Jeon did film a special appearance, but explained, "We conducted various edits and reshoots to deliver a higher-quality production." They clarified that the editing was not due to any political issues. It was reported that the decision to edit out Jeon's scene had already been made before any recent issues involving him arose.
