The First Local Government Employee Recruitment Examination Held
14.4 to 1 for Administrative Positions, 9.9 to 1 for Technical Positions
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 3rd that the average competition rate for the '2025 1st Local Government Employee Recruitment Examination' was 12.7 to 1.
As a result of applications submitted from the 24th to the 28th of last month, 21,174 candidates applied for 1,670 positions. This recruitment exam was conducted across 28 job categories and 64 recruitment units. The competition rates by field were 14.4 to 1 for administrative positions, 9.9 to 1 for technical positions, and 1.9 to 1 for employment support targets such as national merit recipients.
The average competition rate for Seoul's "2025 1st Local Government Employee Recruitment Examination," for which applications were accepted from March 24 to 28, was 12.7 to 1.
The competition rates by recruitment unit were 15.2 to 1 for General Administration Grade 9, 241.0 to 1 for Security (Local Council) Grade 9, and 0.3 to 1 for General Civil Engineering (Disabled) Grade 9.
Looking at the status of applicants by region, Seoul accounted for 63.4%, Gyeonggi 19.6%, Incheon 2.1%, and other regions 14.9%, with the metropolitan area making up 85.1%.
By age group, those in their 20s (41.8%) and 30s (40.3%) comprised the majority, followed by those in their 40s (14.6%), 50s and older (2.8%), and teenagers (0.5%). The gender composition was 57.8% female (12,228 people) and 42.2% male (8,946 people).
The written exam will be held on June 21 at middle and high schools in Seoul. The results of the written exam will be announced on July 24, followed by interviews from August 25 to September 12, and the final successful candidates will be announced on September 26. Baek Il-heon, Director of the Seoul Human Resources Development Institute, stated, "We will do our best to ensure fair exam management so that capable and excellent talents with both expertise and character, who will lead the companion and attractive special city Seoul, can be recruited."
